ModeMagic — Shopify automation for D2C sellers
Redesigning Mason's flagship Shopify app from a simple badge tool into a seller-facing automation product — select badge, choose products, update store.
Problem & Context
Shopify sellers needed promo badges on hundreds of products — but had to apply them one product at a time.
The impact: During flash sales, slow and error-prone tagging meant missed windows and wrong products showing the wrong badge.
The opportunity: ModeMagic already had badge assets. The redesign had to make bulk apply and automation feel as simple as the three-step flow — select badge, choose products, update store — while giving Mason a path from experiment to a core product.

Takeaways
Early in my career, this project taught me that seller tools live or die on speed under pressure — a flash sale doesn't wait for a clunky bulk-edit flow. The three-step pattern (select → choose → apply) became the backbone for automation features that followed. I'm still proud that the experience we shipped continues to run in production.
These are brief snapshots for a quick look. To learn more, let's connect—I'm excited to discuss the process, my role, and insights from the project.
